CASE STUDY #1 – Plant Hire Service Building

The steel building at Wentbridge Quarry was a plant hire and machine servicing building and a relatively simple - if large - build.

The design of the steel building was a simple portal frame that was 15 metres wide by 30 metres long, 5 metres high (to the eaves of the building). The concrete base was already laid.

The building required skylights on each side and in each bay and also a roller shutter door. Obviously, the size of the roller shutter door impacts the size of the building and the bay size (length between each portal) as the door itself needs space either side for it's mechanism.

As with all Castle Steel Buildings, this is cold rolled design and build, provided by Capital Steel.
